Sempervivum

Sempervivum tectorumAlso known as: Hens and Chicks, Houseleek, Live Forever
Sempervivum is a hardy succulent native to European mountains, forming rosettes that multiply by producing numerous offsets (chicks) around the mother plant (hen). Growing 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) wide, these cold-hardy plants can survive temperatures as low as -30F (-34C), making them perfect for outdoor containers and rock gardens.

  • Dying mother plant: Normal after flowering (monocarpic)
  • Pale color: Too little sun

Pro Tips
